It's Time to Plant Fall Crops!
It may still be hot outside, but August through September is the time to plant many fall crops. As we move into September, we start losing daylight, and crops need enough time and light to grow well before cooler weather arrives.
Even though temperatures may still feel too hot, this is when many fall crops need to get started. Waiting too long can put plants behind.
Some crops may need a little shade at first to help them adapt. Shade cloth works well, and even pots placed over young plants for part of the day can help until they are adjusted.
Believe me, it is worth the time and effort.
