Growing Cucumbers

  • Direct seed or start indoors 3 weeks before last frost.
  • Germination temperature 75-85 degrees.
  • Sow ½”-1” deep. Space 36” on ground (not recommended), or trellis 6-12” apart.
  • Full sun. afternoon shade in warm months
  • Tresslis or grow up canes for best results and straighter cucumbers.
  • Leaves are very sensitive to sprays so spray only in early morn. or evenings.
  • They are heavy feeders, fertilize weekly and grow best in rich soil with organic matter. Water regularly for best production.
  • Fast growing so you need to check daily and harvest while still thin for less seeds. In warmer climates can plant in March and September. Great for salads, slicing and pickling.
