Nicknamed “St. Augustine pepper” .  These were brought to St. Augustine Florida in 1777 from Spain.  Very hot little 3-4″ peppers that ripen to bright yellow-orange.  Hot, fruity flavor compared to habanero.  Famous for the Datil hot sauces.  As most hot peppers these love the heat so they make a great summer crop.
