Description
Plantago major
Broadleaf plantain grows wild in many areas of Florida. But it will grow everywhere and is heat and frost tolerant. The whole plant is edible. It is used in teas, tinctures, healing salves and is even better when used with comfrey. It is a natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. Traditionally used for snake bites, insect bites, cuts and rashes. The list of uses is so long I can’t include them all! Grows from spring until freeze. Will self seed. Grow in partial shade or indirect sun during the hottest months.
