Ocicum basilicum
One of my best selling herbs. The unique flavor is similar to anise or black licorice. Used in Thai cuisine as well many other dishes. Some of my customers just chew the leaves and stems for a snack, or instead of gum. Does not tolerate temperatures below 45 degrees. Annual with lovely purple flowers and stems. Some find it hardier than regular genovese basil.
