Culantro is an old world herb from Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands where it is known as “Racao” to many.  With the flavor and aroma of the better known herb cilantro.  Culantro grows well in the hottest weather when cilantro is known to bolt quickly.  Saw tooth leaves are tender when small but can be cut up and used anytime.  Will self seed.  Partial shade in hottest weather will grow larger plants.  Grow in containers or in the ground.  Light frost tolerant, but will be killed in freezing temperatures.   Germination is slow, 14-28 days in temps 80 degrees or above, the hotter the faster germination.
