Native to South America, perennial.  Flowers from fall to spring in most areas.  If well established will come back after hard freeze from woody stump, roots.  Bright orange flowers grow along the stem and can grow to 6-6′ tall.  Does not like to be over watered, very drought tolerant.  Flowers attract bees and butterflies and are known to be very medicinal.  Dried leaves and flowers are known to have a calming effect similar to cannabis but much milder.
