Description
(Vigna unguiculata)
Chinese noodle bean from Asia. Also known as asparagus bean. Perfect for southern gardens since they thrive in the heat when most other crops burn up. Grow up to 36” long! Delicious and hardy summer crop. These seeds were given to me about 11 years ago, but I never planted them! They all grew! I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor and that they grew so well in the hot humid months. A winner in my book for sure!
Pick when about the thickness of a pencil for best eating. Direct seed or start 4 weeks before planting. Can plant in spring or mid to late summer. Germination temp. 75-80°. Space 6” apart on poles or trellis.
Ready 80 days
Average 30 seeds per pack
*Growing tip: These are very long and many end up touching the ground. Keep off the ground if possible to prevent but and dirt from damaging them.
