Old standard variety bush type with some long vines. Thomas Jefferson grew blackeye peas in the 1770’s Their African origin makes them easy to grow and very popular in the South. Can be eaten as a green shell bean or left to dry for storage and dry bean. Very vigorous high yielding vines. These make a good cover crop too, till in just when they start to flower. Wilt and root nematode resistant. Tolerant to heat, humidity and sun. Creamy white pea with black eyes.
