Calendula officinalis
These funny looking seeds produce beautiful yellow edible flowers with an occasional orange bloom. This variety has the highest concentration of resins which makes it the most potent for herbal uses. The dried flowers can be used as dyes, for tea, and to make oils for medicinal uses such as tinctures. Natural anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and soothes rashes, eczema and sunburn.
Grow early spring and fall. Doesn’t like extreme heat. Very frost freeze tolerant makes them great for fall/winter flowers. Full sun, rich soil. Space a foot apart. 50-60 days to flower.
