One of the earliest domesticated crops.  Green lentils are the most nutritious of all the lentils.  Lentils are a cool weather crop in the pea family.  Direct seed or start in pots 4-6 weeks before planting out.  Plant out early spring and late September-October in warm climates.  Space 6-8” apart for good air flow on a low trellis. Plants grow 18-24” tall and produce small pods with  1-3 lentils in each.  Harvest when brown and dry.

    Tolerant to 25°. Temperatures over 80° causes flower drop and pests, diseases. Does not do well in high humidity.
